A friend of mine from the program who decided to go back out again , he called me this morning and was asking me for help to get back into the program . He needs detox and I called the detox here in tampa and they told me they were full and they had a waiting list about two weeks long . I told him to pray and ask GOD for help and try not to drink any more today , I don't think a meeting would help him today because he's already drunk what should I do ?

This is a time of year when we start to remember the holiday's of the past ,I would start at home drinking so I would have a good buzz going before I arrived so they wouldn't know how much I drank , so in an hour or two when I got drunk everyone would say leave him alone its a holiday.When I think of the holidays past I always remember the good times (before I blacked out) ,before the fights and making an ass out of myself. Now that I'm sober I want to go back there for some reason I don't know. I tell myself I can handle it being around them and the drinking because now I'm sober , what a JOKE I can't handle it what I need to do is stay close to A.A. and my sober friends , tell my family I'm sorry I can't attend this year but maybe next year and hope they understand.
