Sometimes when we are new in recovery, everything can be scary. We don't fit in with our using buddies, and don't quite fit in with our new friends in recovery yet. Everything is new. We are starting all over. New friends. New hobbies. New places. New everything. That can be scary in itself. Let alone learning to deal with all these emotions that we havn't felt for so long because we've been numbing ourselves for years! Take it slow. And no that from time to time, everyone is afraid. It's okay to be afraid sometimes, just don't let it stop you from doing what you need to do. True courage is not the absence of fear, but acting in spite of it... Be strong. And remember, if God is for you, then who can be against you? Prayers for ya... PJ

I agree with godseeker. We are fear based people. First we have to see what we have before we can give it to God. Don't get too frustrated with the process. Sometimes when we are starting to change we must walk through some fear to find our faith on the other side. You are in my prayers every day. You are not alone. I believe that soon you will start to feel God in your life more, and you will really understand you are not alone. Love Colo

I agree with these two ladies GettingSober. EVen though I don't blog here anymore, I still come back to see those I care about and you are one of them. What Godseeker said is so true- Courage is not the absence of fear- it's feeling the fear and doing it anyway! You are doing so well brother- don't give up!

HI SOBER. SORRY TO HEAR U R FEELING LIKE THIS.WHEN WE ARE WALKING IN FEAR WE ARE NOT WALKING IN FAITH. ASK GOD TO REMOVE YOUR FEARS. TELL HIM IT IS MORE THAN U CAN HANDLE AND ASK FOR HIS HELP. HIT YOUR KNEES AS MANY TIMES A DAY AS U NEED TO. ALSO THE SERENITY PRAYER. I SAY IT TO MYSELF MANY TIMES IN A DAY WHEN I NEED TO. GOD HEARS AND ANSWERS ALL PRAYERS.......SOMETIMES THE ANSWER IS NO STAY STRONG.
