we learned that we had to fully concede to our innermost selves that we were alcoholics . this is the first step in recovery . the delusion that we are like other people, or presently may be , has to be smashed.
Yes. We are different. As addicts, we have a disease that seeks to rob, kill, and destroy us. Everyone in life has his own individual battles to deal with. Ours is the ongoing war of addiction. But it can be won, one battle at a time. And when its finished, we will hear God's "Well Done".
As always, prayin' for ya'.

Good to see you Getting Sober...We have to admit that we are powerless...Normal people can drink...we can't....Once i started thinking of booze , as booze (alcohol sounds to nice) and equated it with poison for me...I am allergic...I can't drink booze...I won't try it today...I know it will kill me...My sister is not allergic...Tha's Ok...I know in my heart and soul for today I won't drink poison...I hope if I keep working a program, that I will never again think I can...Since I am working a program today I want to live....Sounds circular, but the circle of my thinking has sobriety in it today....Hang in there,,,Stay on the road...If you are working the steps, you should be beginning to get some joy....Do you feel joy yet?
